we were been hit by snow storm down here in the south and (happily) we are snowed in at home. i loved watching the snow fall on sunday night. it was so very peaceful as the house was quiet and the kids were asleep. and, how beautiful it was to wake up on monday morning with a heavy blanket of white on the ground.
my children were very happy school was canceled and immediately wanted to head outside. we played in the snow lots yesterday...
and sled down hills (that are usually neighborhood roads)
it's so, so cold here... but so much fun to be snowed in!
again school is canceled today. and, if we are not outside playing, we'll be inside keeping warm while sipping hot cocoa, playing games, watching movies and working on school projects that are due later this week.
The northeast has been hit by another blizzard! Oh, how I wish I were there. I really do miss the snow and its beauty as it falls. Down here in the south, there isn't much, maybe a dusting each year. However, a couple of weeks ago, just before our trip to Oklahoma... it did snow, really snow!! I love to look at this picture of our backyard taken just before we headed out of town.
We live in Georgia, so it very rarely ever snows. No, it is nothing like the snowfalls I knew as a child growing up in the north. But, needless to say, school was canceled and my kids couldn't wait to go outside and play in it. It is very cold here, only 12 degrees, so they didn't last long, but I loved seeing their happiness as they ran out the back door to scoop up a handful of snow that did fall.
i'm the stay-at-home mother of 3 and the wife of an amazingly wonderful husband. i am inspired by the simple everyday joy of being at home. i truly love being in my kitchen and find happiness in all things creative. i am often at home crafting, baking, working on a home project or planning a party. it's my life... a place called joy.
