good morning monday (and love).

how was your weekend? mostly, we stayed at home. and, i happily worked on a few (crafty) projects that have been on mind. sometimes, i see something i really, really like and i say "i can do that." and so, i do. usually incorporating some of my ideas and a little of me too.

like the paper wreath i saw on willows home and garden blog. loved it. and, had to do it. so, i tore out pages from an old paperback book and created my own version. slade and i crumpled the pages first and with glue, i attached them on a metal ring, which i had on hand from an old lamp shade. (i knew it would have a use someday!) after the ring was completely filled with pages, i hand-stamped a tag
and then tied it to the wreath with twine. simple as that.

i hung it in my foyer among meaningful things i love. like the pictures of our little girls. or my longtime dream of going to paris someday. th
e first letter of our last name- my love for typography. and especially, a watercolor of the very first home jeff and i purchased together. it was the house we brought all three of our babies home to. thoughtfully painted and given to us by jeff's uncle who was the reason for our very first dance and meeting almost 11 years ago.

so much meaning (and love) on this foy
er wall. it was the perfect place to hang my love wreath. just in time for valentines day.

p.s. the house number pillow on our bench reads "endroit de la joie", which means "place of the joy" in french. so perfect, since my home is my place of joy, a place i love.

ambitious + banana bread

photo via martha stewart

i'm thankful for my husband. he always takes it upon himself to complete a task when he sees one that needs to be done. for instance, last night, he was either tired of looking at the ripening bananas sitting on the counter for days or he knew i really have been wanting and meaning to make banana bread for days but i really just have not had the time.

so, while I was on the phone
and working on the computer last night... he asked for my banana bread recipe (minus nuts) and the next thing i knew he was beating eggs and mixing flour and smashing bananas and adding vanilla and finally pouring sweet banana batter into three small loaf pans.

task complete. just like that. one i've been wanting to do for days now.... i'm so thankful for my husband and his ambitious nature. and, my children and i were all very happy to have dad's banana bread for breakfast this morning.

10 years ago today.

i knew my life had changed forever 10 years ago today. i met the most wonderful guy on the dance floor at my best friend's wedding. wow! as strange as it may seem, i knew that night, i had met the man i would spend the rest of my life with. i knew it. i believe in fate. i believe we were meant to be. and so thankful 10 years ago today our paths crossed marking only the beginning of our forever.

i love you so much jeffrey. and, couldn't imagine a single day of my life without you.

hydrangea blooms.

I dropped Slade off at the bus stop this morning and on my way into the side garage door, I was very excited to see my hydrangeas were blooming and beautiful. So, with excitement, immediately I cut some of the larger flowers and brought them indoors to fill a ceramic pitcher.

I am flooded with memories. Happiness. Love. Unity. Galvanized buckets filled with the same color hydrangeas hung on the end of each pew in the church the day Jeff and I were married. For me, hydrangeas such as these will always symbolize the joy
and love we shared that day. The day we became husband and wife. The day we became one. The day we vowed that we would be together forever.

I love when a simple moment overwhelms me with so many memories and such happiness.

Check out Starbucks Love Project. For every love drawing you create, 5 cents will be donated to the global fund to help fight Aids in Africa. The kids and I created these drawings yesterday and they were posted on the gallery of hundreds of drawings from around the world.

i love you notes.

As Slade was eating breakfast this morning, before heading off to school, he busy writing these notes for his sisters. He left them on the counter for them to see when they came downstairs. How sweet is that? He has such a huge heart for a little boy. (Sia added to hers before I could take a picture!)
