lunch notes.

I slip a little note of affection and gratitude into my son's lunch each and everyday. I simply write it on his napkin. It lets him know that I am thinking of him while he is at school.

During his first days of kindergarten, he often came home with the napkin notes in his pants or shirt pocket. It made me smile knowing the comfort my little note brought to him as he spent his first days away from home and in a big school.

Every now and then, I will still find a note in his pocket. And, it still makes me smile to know I can provide him with comfort and encouragement even when he is away from home.
